On behalf of Keats,
Like all of you, we had hoped that we’d be back to ‘business as usual’ well before summertime. However, as July closes in and we consider our options for summer, we have had to confront the likelihood that the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to influence our lives well into the summer months. Our number one priority is the health, safety and security of our campers, staff, leaders and guests. In this spirit, and in consideration of current governmental guidelines on large gatherings, we are saddened to announce that, for the first time in over 90 years of camping ministry, Keats Camps will not run a summer program.
You might be wondering what this means for the camp. We plan to take this coming season to pour into our facilities, connect with our local communities, and strengthen all that God has blessed us with. Like all of you, we will miss the joy and excitement of camp. We are going to do everything we can to bring all the fun of summer camp to your homes. We are still figuring out what that will look like so make sure you follow us on social media for updates!
Even though we have made the difficult decision to not run camps this summer, we still have ongoing costs related to the year round planning, maintenance, and administration required to run the camp. We have made every effort to reduce our expenses at this time but we still need your help.
Now more than ever we are depending on the generous contributions of our donors, alumni and camp families so that, in years to come, we can welcome you all back to Keats!
If you have any questions feel free to email me directly Stay well and safe,
Stan Carmody // Executive Director
